What to do when you're afraid
/Have you ever been afraid? Maybe you have received a phone call with devastating news... or maybe you're worried about yourself, a family member or a friend... in all circumstances, remember that God is with you! No matter what people are saying, or how people are feeling, God is still God - and you can always trust Him!
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee -Psalm 56:3
Want to know something awesome? When my mom was a young girl, she learned this Bible verse at vacation bible school, and she never forgot it! She has told me that anytime she has been afraid, she remembers this verse! Want to know something that's even more awesome? Throughout my life, my mom has shared this verse with me when I have been afraid! I'm so thankful that both my parents were intentional to sow seeds of God's word in my heart! God's word truly is life changing!
So... what should you do when you're afraid?
Know that God is with you
Trust God to take care of the things you are afraid of
Spend time with God... talk to Him and read His word
Repeat :)
Dear mom, dad, friend, kids pastor, small group leader, nursery caregiver.... take advantage of opportunities to speak God's word to kids. It's the most valuable gift you can give to a child. Even when you think a child is not paying attention, they will still remember it when it's needed... God says so right here ...
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name,
He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you"
-John 14:26-
"So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it"
-Isaiah 55:11-
